Ohio State Buckeyes Trending for Five-Star Defensive Lineman

The Ohio State Buckeyes are quickly becoming the favorite to land five-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou from Chatsworth, California, as they ramp up their recruiting efforts for the 2027 class. With June marking the start of visit season, many top high school talents are scheduling both official and unofficial visits to Columbus. These visits are crucial for the Buckeyes' coaching staff to build strong relationships with recruits early in their recruitment process. Fakatou recently took an official visit to Ohio State on May 29, and reports indicate that the visit went exceptionally well. Following his time with the Buckeyes, he also scheduled official visits with Georgia, Texas, Oregon, and Notre Dame, although the latter two did not take place. After narrowing his focus, Fakatou released a top three list that includes Ohio State, Georgia, and Texas. This news is a significant boost for the Buckeyes as they aim to secure one of the top defensive prospects in the nation. Fakatou is currently ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 24 recruit overall. His commitment would greatly enhance an already impressive defensive line class for Ohio State, which includes five-star edge rusher DJ Jacobs and four-star recruits Wyatt Smith and Prince Goldsby. With the recruiting landscape shifting rapidly, Ohio State is poised to make a strong push for Fakatou as he approaches a potential commitment date in the coming months.
